Ambition and scope for Zuidasdok project reassured

Doing nothing is not an option

Minister of State Sybilla Dekker has investigated the usefulness and necessity of Zuidasdok in recent months. In her advice " Building the future energetically", Dekker concludes that doing nothing is not an option. It is therefore now recommended to continue decisively with the realization of the Zuidasdok project. There is no question of responsible austerity.

According to Dekker, the large investment is justified because of the profit that the Zuidasdok project will yield for the accessibility of both the region and the country and for the business climate. The update of the cost-benefit analysis shows that continuing the current Zuidasdok project will generate more benefits than costs for society as a whole.

The implementation of the project will be changed. For example, the project is split into subprojects to make things more manageable. The final part of the project is estimated to be completed between 2032 and 2036. For more information, visit zuidas.nl

Zuidasdok

Zuidasdok is the name of the project that will improve the accessibility of Zuidas and the northern Randstad. The A10 will be tackled, Amsterdam-Zuid station will be renovated and the De Nieuwe Meer and Amstel junctions will be adapted. This will give us more capacity on the road and in the station to accommodate the growing traffic and passenger flows.
